Ludhiana, July 18, 2013: A meeting of All Industries and Trade Forum held at Punjab Trade Center here today, in connection with the recent notification of Punjab Excise and Taxation Department.
As per the notification the limit of e-TRIP has been reduced to Rs.50,000 from Rs.2 to 3 lacs on 6 items.
Due to this the industry is going to face a tough time as Rs.50,000 is a meager amount and due to high inflation the prices of steel, yarn and oil are very high, the meeting observed.
It also observed that the smallest of the trader or manufacturer will have to maintain the infrastructure for implementation of this Act. The infrastructure includes the full time accountant with knowledge of computer, computer and internet, a release issued by the Forum said here this evening.
Further, the meeting observed that in the state with power deficiency and poor internet infrastructure, it is very hard for the traders and manufacturers to comply with these rules. Mostly the website of department remained hanged which is a major hurdle in the delivery of the material.
It was felt that the trade and industry is passing through a deadliest recession and during such time an increase in operating expenses will add to the woes of the industry.
The meeting decided to give a seven days ultimatum to the department failing which hunger strike would be started from July 26 onwards.
The Forum has also decided to file a writ petition against the department against its illegal act of “four stage verification” in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The meeting was attended by Narinder Bhamra, Charanjit Vishwakarma, Badish Jindal, Rajkumar Singla, Darshan Dawar, Narinder Miglani, Sushil Jain, Pardeep Wadhawan, Inderjit Singh Navyug, Jaswinder Thukral, Raman Aggarwal, Arvind Rai, Rajkumar Gupta and Naresh Aggarwal.
