All Women Lions Club, Hyd Petals donates power loom to Kasturi woman weaver from Narayanpet
The club will work this year to uplift and empower women weavers and artisans to prevent extinction of Telangana Hastakala

Hyderabad: The All Women Lions Club, Hyderabad Petals donates a power loom to a woman weaver from Narayanpet. Towards this effect they have travelled all the way to Narayanpet and handed over Rs 35,000 cash to Smt Kasturi to purchase a new loom. This donation was on the eve of National Handlooms Day. The donation was done under their flagship initiative called Gaurangi.
“Gaurangi”, is an Ode to women Artisans of Telangana. It will be the Flagship project for the year. Giving details about it Sangeetha Verma said it is an initiative to uplift and empower women weavers and artisans and prevent the extinction of the glorious Telangana Hastakala (Looms & Crafts).
It would be an endeavour to revive long forgotten Telangana Arts such as Cheriyal and Banjara.
The donation was done in the presence of the members at Narayanpet.
