Alumni Scientists from USA visit PAU, Discuss joint venture

Two alumni scientists of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), namely Dr Deepak Kumar and Dr Ankita Juneja, Assistant Professors, Department of Chemical Engineering, State University of New York (SUNY), USA visited their alma-matter recently. Both the scientists have pursued B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) from the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, PAU, in 2006.

Ludhiana, August 20, 2024: Two alumni scientists of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), namely Dr Deepak Kumar and Dr Ankita Juneja, Assistant Professors, Department of Chemical Engineering, State University of New York (SUNY), USA visited their alma-matter recently. Both the scientists have pursued B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) from the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, PAU, in 2006.

Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean of the College, informed that an interaction meeting was held with the faculty of Bio-energy, and Processing and Food Engineering regarding potential collaborations and ways to strengthen research as well as academia. Potential areas like carbon sequestration, biofuel conversion, plastic from paddy straw, thermovchemical conversion, modelling, etc. were identified for the mutual collaboration, he added. Sandwich program between PAU and SUNY, which is yet to start postgraduate programme in Bio-energy was also discussed, he said. Initially guest lecture was organized through video conferencing for the students of the college, he informed.

Dr Preetinder Kaur, President of the College and Alumni Association, and Dr Aseem Verma, co-ordinated their visit to the college. The guest scientists were also shown newly developed facilities like Alumni Relations Center, College Library and Book bank in the college.
