Amid economic slump, PAU Students bag hefty pay packages
In contemporary times of economic slump and massive layoffs, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is making significant strides by providing final placement opportunities to its students. Recently, five PAU students from Ph.D and Master programmes have been selected by Brane Enterprises Private Limited, Hyderabad for hefty pay packages of Rs 10 lakh per annum (for Ph.D students) and Rs 8 lakh per annum (for Masters’ students).
Ludhiana, January 8, 2024: In contemporary times of economic slump and massive layoffs, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is making significant strides by providing final placement opportunities to its students. Recently, five PAU students from Ph.D and Master programmes have been selected by Brane Enterprises Private Limited, Hyderabad for hefty pay packages of Rs 10 lakh per annum (for Ph.D students) and Rs 8 lakh per annum (for Masters’ students).
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, while wishing all success to the students in their future endeavours, appreciated the untiring efforts of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare and the University Counseling and Placement Guidance Cell (UCPGC) in providing the best possible opportunities to the students.
Sharing contours, Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Associate Director, UCPGC, informed that the selected students included Baldev Singh Kalsi and Pratik Pandit Potdar, Ph.D from the Department of Processing and Food Engineering; Bukke Kutti Bai, Ph.D from the School of Agricultural Biotechnology; Visal Baby T, M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS; and Patil Amit Shantaram, M.Sc in Plant Pathology. Stating that UCPGC was working on the skill sets of all the University students to make them job ready, Dr Dharni told that companies from all parts of the country were willing to hire PAU students.
Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, congratulated the students for their success and reiterated the commitment of the directorate to the all round development of the University students. He lauded the efforts of the University Placement Cell for enhancing the employability of the University students.
