Amity School of Fashion Design and Technology hosts Graduate Design Collection 2017

Gurgaon: Amity School of Fashion Design and Technology hosted the Graduate Design Collection 2017. The event was held in the premises of Amity University, Haryana where the students of the graduating batch of B.Sc (FD&T) showcased their final collection in the form of a fashion show. The students displayed their months of hard work that culminated into a collection of eight to ten garments. Each student had worked on an individual theme under the able guidance of his/ her mentor, Mr. Rikhil Nagpal, HOD, ASFDT. A distinguished panel of jury members comprising of designers and industry experts judged the show. The panelists were, Mr. Vikas Bhargava, Textile Association of India (Delhi), Mr. Ritesh (SM KRF), Ms. Lalita (Daksh), Mr. Raj Gupta (Tattvam Lifestyles) and Mr. Manoj Sinha (IGMATEX).
The show started with a welcome speech by Dr. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Haryana, followed by an address by Maj. Gen. G.S. Bal, Dean, Student Welfare, Amity University, Haryana, marking the inauguration of the Fashion Show. The Graduate Design Collection portrayed through a ramp walk narrated the various themes chosen by the eight final year students for their design collection.
While addressing the students Prof (Dr) P B Sharma said “It is a night of all the hard work put by the students of fashion designing department. I know they have worked very hard. I must tell you all the students and faculty present here that there is no short cut of hard work. One should know the value of discipline and value of time to achieve greatness.”
Rikhil Nagpal, HOD, ASFDT said “Students put their blood and soul to make this night memorable. I am grateful to all the students who are associated with us from last three year. And I can proudly say that bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi might be wearing the dresses designed by our university students in her upcoming event.”
While presenting his designs the third year student of Amity School of Fashion Designing, Manish Mallya said “I have been working from last three year for this day. I and my classmates worked very hard and we are expecting for a great show today.”
