Amongst others, performances by world renowned Carnatic Classical Vocalist Vidushi Bombay Jayashri (Padma Shri) and Tabla Maestro Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri (Padma Shri), one of the doyens of the Lucknow Gharana, took place.
“We organized the event this time in Whitefield, right in the midst of the IT hub, to make it more accessible for this populace to engage with traditional music and the artists. With the blessings of the public and the assistance of musicians, we experimented with novel combinations of art genres, such as the yet-unheard Ajayan and Nadaswaram duet. We believe this resonated very well with the audience” said Prabir Bhattacharya, Professional Sitar Artiste, President, Ananda Dhwani Music Trust, Bangalore.
In line with the objectives of Ananda Dhwani, Ishita Datta, Trustee & Secretary said, “The Indian Classical Music and Art forms have been losing their essence and there is a drift away from our heritage and culture. Through these events, we have focused on generating awareness about our classical art forms, and thereby making classical music and dance as much a part of our lifestyle, as other genres.”
