The threat of eviction solidified with shockers and reality checks on 'Weekend Ka Vaar' in COLORS’ ‘Bigg Boss 16’. While viewers waited with bated breath for the 'vaar', contestants of the season dreaded it. After evading eviction for quite some time, the coveted house witnessed Ankit Gupta bidding farewell to the show owing to a unanimous decision made by the housemates. In a shocking move, the master of the house revealed that the voting lines had been closed for the week and commanded the housemates to vote a nominated contestant out of the house on the grounds of contribution to the show. Ankit, who had been reprimanded time and again for his lack of interest in the game, got the maximum number of votes. A few days ago, many housemates predicted his exit after his close friend Priyanka Chahar Choudhary was given the opportunity to revive the prize money of Rs. 25 lakhs by sending him home immediately. However, no one could have foreseen the way he was evicted. What remains to be seen is if his rumored ladylove Priyanka will survive this game-changing season without him.
Throughout his journey on the show, Ankit has been a silent spectator who sized up his competitors well and dropped truth bombs and killer one-liners. The Dabanng host Salman Khan has often praised his Iconic and to-the-point replies and his calm disposition throughout the season. He was often warned to speak more and contribute to the show. Although there was an improvement on that front, Ankit maintained his individuality and did not cave into the pressure of being someone else for the trophy. He built a great rapport with Sajid Khan and Soundarya Sharma, and only time will tell if these friendships will last outside of the game. Ankit also had his share of fights with Priyanka, who expected more support from him. Quite often he bickered away with Shiv Thakare, who was on the receiving end of his savage answers.
Talking about his eviction, Ankit Gupta said, “I'm grateful for all the support and love my fans have extended to me throughout my Bigg Boss 16 journey. I never thought that I'd be able to survive the season for so long. I thank the makers for putting together a brilliant show and ensuring that viewers are thoroughly entertained. I have learned to be more patient and observant on this show. Although I wish all the contestants good luck, I think Priyanka is one of the strongest and she deserves to win.”
