Annual athletic meet- SMASH 2024 held

Ludhiana, October 8, 2024: Annual inter batch sports meet, SMASH 2024 was held today at DMC&H College Campus. All the batches of MBBS students participated.

The meet commenced with the inaugural ceremony by releasing balloons by the chief guest Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society along with Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society, Principal Dr G S Wander, Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medical Supdts., Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary and Dr Sandeep Sharma. All the faculty members of DMC&H and Sports Committee were also present on the occasion.

The sports meet featured a wide range of athletic events for both boys and girls namely short-distance racing events (hundred meters race, two hundred meters, four hundred meters relay race) shot put, tug of war, football, badminton, basketball, lawn tennis, kho-kho cricket, volleyball, table tennis. These activities encouraged healthy competition between the participants.

In his inaugural address, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society highlighted about the importance of sports in students life as sports help to maintain balance between physical health and mental well being. Further Gupta highlighted that sports help to foster the team spirit, sense of belongingness and assist to achieve shared goals. 

Principal Dr G S Wander, congratulated DMC&H Sports Committee and all the students to conduct this event and their active participation. He declared the meet open.

Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Chairperson, DMC&H Sports Committee, complimented all the winners and highlighted the importance of sports.

Dr Vineet Galhotra, Secretary, DMC&H Sports Committee, welcomed the chief guest and detailed about the SMASH 2024.
