Annual fete at HMV

Jalandhar, January 24, 2015: Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organised its Annual Gala Fete on Saturday.  The Chief Guest K.D. Bhandari, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab alongwith his wife Neena Bhandari inaugurated the fete by lighting the ceremonial lamp, releasing the HMV Logo and colourful balloons in the air and declaring the fete open. 

Principal Dr.Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj accorded a warm welcome to the guests and acquainted them with the laudable achievements of the college.  She also gave best wishes on the festival of Basant Panchami.  Guldasta of Folk Songs, cultural items like duet and Bhangra were presented on this occasion by teachers and students of the college. 

Chief Guest K.D. Bhandari showered his blessings on the students for their bright future.  Education alone cannot make you great unless you are enriched with human values, he said. Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj honoured the distinguished guests with gifts and mementos.  Miss Basant 2015 competition was also organised.  After passing through three rounds the title of Miss Basant was conferred on Navjot Kaur.  Komalpreet and Davinder were declared as First and Second Runners up respectively.

Eminent singer Sarabjeet Cheema, enthralled the audience with his melodious rendering of his hit Punjabi numbers.  The students and their family members flocked to the college in gay and joyous mood.  The nicely decorated stalls offered a wide range of eatables like Chinese, Italian, Punjabi and South Indian.  The Music Corner attracted a large number of students with fervour to dance and rock.  There was a huge rush at Lucky Dip Stall inviting people to come and try their luck.  Swings and joy rides attracted huge rush from morning till the end. 

The draw of the Raffle Tickets took place in the afternoon.  Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj congratulated the winners of the lucky draw and gave away the prizes. 

On this occasion, Anita Bhardwaj, LMC Members Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, S.N. Mayor and Devender Bhardwaj graced the occasion.  Bhupinder Kaur, Kiranjit, Dr. Jasbir Rishi, Jyoti Kaul and Pankaj Jyoti were the Incharges of this fete.  The stage was conducted by Dr. Jasbir Rishi, Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Dr. Nidhi Bal.
