Annual function for international students organized at PU

Chandigarh, March 21, 2023: The annual function for international students was organized at Panjab University Campus by Dean International students office today. The event was organized to celebrate the cultural diversity and achievements of international students studying at the university and local colleges. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various nationalities including Afghanistan, Djibouti, Gambia, Zambia, Ethiopia, Iran, Nepal, South Sudan, Botswana, Mauritius, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Tibet.

The chief guest of the event was the Director (Research and Development Cell) Prof. Harsh Nayyar. In his opening remarks, Dr. Nayyar emphasized the importance of diversity and multiculturalism in today's globalized world. He praised the university for its efforts to attract and support international students and the efforts of the Dean of International Students for organizing such an event. He encouraged them to continue their academic pursuits with determination and dedication

The event featured various cultural performances, including dance, poem recitation, music, and drama, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of different countries represented by the international students. The audience was enthralled by the colorful and vibrant performances and gave thunderous applause to the performers

The event was attended by a large number of students, faculty, and staff of Panjab University, who lauded the efforts of the International Students for showcasing the cultural diversity of their countries. The event not only provided an opportunity for cultural exchange but also helped in promoting international understanding and strengthening the bonds of friendship among the students.

In his closing remarks, Dr. S K Kansal, DIS of the university thanked the international students for their valuable contribution to the university community and expressed his appreciation for their hard work and dedication. He also thanked Prof. Harsh Nayyar, Prof. Y P Verma, Prof. Deepti Gupta, Dr. Surinder Singh and other dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their presence and motivating the students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

The annual function for international students was a grand success, bringing together students from different countries and creating a sense of unity and harmony among them. The event highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and understanding in promoting global peace and cooperation.
