Annual literary and cultural fest “Kavach-Ranneeti Ka Rangmanch” 

Department of Defence & National Security Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised its two days annual literary and cultural fest “Kavach-Ranneeti Ka Rangmanch” from March 5-6 March, 2025 at Student Centre of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, March 6, 2025: Department of Defence & National Security Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised its two days annual literary and cultural fest “Kavach-Ranneeti Ka Rangmanch” from March 5-6 March, 2025 at Student Centre of Panjab University, Chandigarh. 

A valedictory session was organised at the closing ceremony of the event. Maj. Gen. J S Cheema, ADG, NCC Directorate Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He encouraged the department to organise more such events and extended his full support in its future endeavours. 

PU Registrar Prof. Yajvender Pal Verma, delivered valedictory remarks. 

The event was well received and appreciated. A huge footfall of more than 5,000 people was seen on two days of the event. It was attended by the general masses,  students of the various colleges and schools,  cadets of Chandigarh NCC army, air and naval wings, veterans, serving officers, students, research scholars and faculty of University. 

This year is the 25th anniversary of its establishment. A military equipment and weapon organised by the Western Command, Chandimandir, was the focal point of attraction of the fest. Range of Infantry battalion weapons were displayed. Various models of planes and ships were also displayed by the 1 Chandigarh Air Squadron and 1 Chandigarh naval unit respectively. An inter college NCC drill, culture dance and tug of war competitions were held among the colleges of Chandigarh. PG Government College, Sector 11 won the NCC drill competition. Panjab University campus NCC team won the cultural dance competition. PG Government college, Sector 11 won the trophy of overall best institute. A blood donation camp with assistance from PGI Chandigarh, open mic, military quiz, fun & sports activities were also organised.
