Students participate in Annual Sports Day at Cambridge International School, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, February 16, 2015: To instill the feeling of sportsmanship in students, Cambridge International School, Chotti Baradari, organised the Annual Sports Meet on February 12and 13.The students participated enthusiastically in the trials for various events and an electrifying  excitement could be felt in the air on the final day.

After the formal welcome of the Chief Guest Natha Singh( ex -Army Officer) and Umesh,(ex -Air force officer), the inauguration of the Annual Sports Day was  done by Deepa Dogra (Academic Director) by hoisting of the flag . It was followed by an impressive Inter- House March Past which was a great success as students marched to the rhythmic beats of the drum. The Oath taking ceremony   was led by Jaspreet Singh, the Sports Captain of the School on behalf of the Student Council. Many events like Long Jump,  Shot-Put, Hurdle Race, Ball Throw, Relay Race , Athletics (100 mt , 200 mt ,400 mt ) Tug of War, Ball Throw , Hurdle Race were a part of the meet in which students participated whole heartedly . 

Stiff competition was witnessed between participants of various events. The spectators cheered the participants and the resonance of their applause motivated the participants greatly. Parents added joviality to the event by participating in the     Fathers’ Race and Mothers’ Race  with full enthusiasm.

An  event (Race) for special need  students was also arranged in which many students participated.  The winners of the same were Ananya ,  Abhinav ,  Ansh Bhanda and Somesh Bhargav.

•             Inter House March Past was won by Cedar House. The House Mistress Divpreet and the House Captain Moyukh were congratulated by one and all.

•             Overall Boys Trophy   was won by Maple House.

•             Overall Girls Trophy was won by Pine House.

The hard work, training and the efforts put in by Sports Department was lauded by one and all. Participants expressed their heartfelt thanks to their sports teachers for arranging this event which provided a platform to exhibit their latent talent.

Chairman Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Deepak Bhatia, Directors Learning Wings J.K. Kohli,  Nitin Kohli , Academic Director Deepa Dogra and Principal Kiranjot Dhillon congratulated the Sports Department for their untiring efforts which paved the way for the success of this achievement.
