Chandigarh, March 9, 2019: Annual Sports Meet was held in Mata Gujri Hall, Girls Hostel No.1, Panjab University in which various events were held for residents, staff and mess/canteen workers.
Competitions like Badminton, Three legged race, Tug of War, Skipping rope, Musical chairs, Short puts and throw disc were held in different categories for residents, staff of hostel and Mess/canteen workers . All the residents, staff and mess/canteen workers participated with great enthusiasm on the occasion.
Winners of various categories are:
Badminton : Anushtha and Saganpreet were declared 1st and 2nd.
Skipping Rope : Saganpreet and Parul were declared 1st and 2nd
3 Legged Race : Agampreet and Jasleen declared 1st while Pooja and Parminder 2nd
Tug of War : Residents : Jonita & Team
Male Staff : Rahul, Manoj, Sonu, Deepak and Mukesh
Musical Chairs : Residents : Parminder 1st, Pooja 2nd
Female Staff of Hostel : Ruby 1st
Male staff : Rahul 1st
Disc Throw : Female Staff : Reeta & Sambedna 1st & 2nd
Male Staff : Rahul & Sat pal Rana – 1st and 2nd
Race : Sat Pal & Brijesh 1st and 2nd
Shot put : Satpal Rana and Rahul – 1st and 2nd
Dr. Suman Mor, Warden, GH-1 stated that these types of activities help to manage stress and give platform to interact with each other & develop team spirit.
