Annual Sports Day At Ludhiana Group Of Colleges

Ludhiana, February 22, 2017: Annual Sports Day of Ludhiana Group of Colleges was held at Chaukiman Campus in which students of constituent colleges participated in athletics and sports with great enthusiasm. Dr.J.K.Chawla, Director of the LGC declared the Athletic Meet open. He while inaugurating the Annual Athletic Meet highlighted the importance of sports in student’s life in keeping them physically fit and mentally alert besides inculcating in them virtues like discipline, co operation and meeting challenges. Major events organized were: Races, Shot Put, Discus throw, Carrom, Chess, Volleyball and Football besides Long Jump and High Jump. Major attractions of the show were: sac race, three leg race, lemon race and tug of war between girl students and boys and teachers vs. non teaching staff. While the boys outclassed the girl students in this contest of physical prowess, the non teachers ‘floored’ their teachers in Tug of war. Mr. Akvinder Singh (BBA VI) and Ms. Gagandeep Kaur (MBA IV) were respectively declared the best male and female athlete. The winners in different categories were honoured with medals and prizes by the dignitaries. Members of the management Mr. Rajiv Gulati and Mr. Vikram Grover encouraged the participants by their presence. Principal Ms.Jaskiron Kaur (Mgt. & CA), Principal Dr. A.K. Singh (Engg.) and Er. M.S. Dhaliwal (Principal Poly.) also graced the occasion.
