Anshul Issar, 4th year CSE student from CGC Landran has won the all India level AWS Educate Challenge 2018. He was felicitated by Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman AICTE during an event at New Delhi. Anshul is among the top three winners of this challenge organised by Amazon Web Services (AWS) Educate open to participation for students pan India. Also present on the occasion were Andrew Ko, Global Managing Director (Education), AWS Public Sector, Teresa Carlson, Vice President (Worldwide Public Sector) AWS and others.
The challenge comprised a six to eight-week competition that required participants to form teams, have an ideation phase followed creating their prototypes leveraging the AWS Educate content and cloud credits. The contest had two categories; one that required participants to generate solutions using Alexa Skills and the other, using AWS services.
Earlier this year, CGC Landran had collaborated with AWS Educate, a global initiative of Amazon to train the next generation of IT professionals in cloud computing. The partnership facilitates students and faculty from the institution to pursue AWS certificate courses in cloud computing and related domains. It is worth mentioning that Anshul is also among these students from CGC who have been utilizing this platform. The students and faculty from in addition to having free access to tools and content available on the platform will also be eligible to apply for cloud-computing jobs as showcased on AWS.
Commending Anshul on this achievement, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC Landran commended Anshul on this achievement and said that he has made CGC proud. They added that such initiatives helped enhancing its students’ subject proficiency in IoT, Big data and related technologies through experiential learning.”
