Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests police officer for bribery in Haroli of Una

Dharamshala, April 22, 2024: Superintendent of Police Balbir Singh HPPS of the State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB), NR in Dharamshala, informed that in a significant development in Haroli of Una an arrest has been made of ASI Nirmal Patial for corruption charges.
On April 21, ASI Patial, originally from Palampur in Kangra District and currently posted at Police Station Haroli in Una District, was allegedly caught red-handed demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3,000. The bribe was solicited from Ankish Kumar, also known as Monu Rana, a resident of Haroli, for acting on a complaint lodged at the station.
The press note issued here by Superintendent of Police Balbir Singh said that following the incident, the State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau of Una registered FIR under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amended) Act 2018 against Patial. The arrest underscores ongoing efforts to combat corruption within the ranks of Himachal Pradesh's law enforcement.
