Anti-Drug Special Cell established at Mini Secretariat Ludhiana
An Anti-Drug Special Cell has been established at Room No. 8 of the Office of Deputy Commissioner in Mini Secretariat Ludhiana. This information was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Major Amit Sareen during a meeting held at his office regarding setting up a special cell against drug addiction.
Ludhiana, August 9, 2024: An Anti-Drug Special Cell has been established at Room No. 8 of the Office of Deputy Commissioner in Mini Secretariat Ludhiana. This information was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Major Amit Sareen during a meeting held at his office regarding setting up a special cell against drug addiction.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that persons whose family members are suffering from drug addiction and want to get treatment can contact this Anti-Drug Special Cell. He said that these persons can also contact the drug rehabilitation centre Jagraon on phone number 0162-4257547 and get the addicts admitted there for treatment. In this center, a person suffering from drug addiction will be kept free of coat for four months during treatment and he will also be provided free food. Along with this, the facility of gym will also be provided to the person suffering from drug addiction.
Major Amit Sareen said that 48 OOAT sitters are running in Ludhiana district, where many drug addicts registered on the portal are given treatment to quit drug addiction. He said that three more 10-bedded drug de-addiction centers with are also being run at Samrala, Jagraon and Ludhiana. He said that persons interested to get treatment for drug de-addiction can also contact Room No. 8 of MA Branch in Deputy Commissioner Office, Mini Secretariat and Deputy Medical Officer in Civil Surgeon's Office for more information. Apart from this, anti-drug cells have also been established in the police department, where persons interested to get treatment for drug de-addiction can get help. He said that the District Administration Ludhiana is also organising an oath-taking ceremony against drugs in all schools and colleges if the district on August 12.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner stated that the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government is committed for weeding out the evil of drug addiction from the state and urged everyone to assist the government in this special task. He said that no campaign can ever be successful without the participation of people, so we all should contribute in this war against drugs so that our future generations can be saved from the ill effects of drugs.
