Anurag Thakur announced launch for ‘Swachh Himachal - Padhai bhi, Safai bhi’ campaign


Dharamsala, February 20, 2016: BCCI Secretary and HPCA president Anurag Thakur said that he has no grudges with HP CM Virbhadra Singh. He said, “I have invited Mr.Singh to inaugurate the sale of tickets for the T 20 world cup being played in the month of March in India.” He said that he has invited Virbhadra in so many matches organised in HPCA stadium in Dharamsala, including the Indo Pak match of 2005.
Anurag thakur said that the sale of 10% of the tickets shall start for foreigners in a day or two so that they can book their flights etc in time. Then the sale for India shall begin on line.
He said that the politics must not be brought in sports and specially in a state small state like Himachal, which got an opportunity to be one of the 8 stadiums selected for this mega event. Speaking to this correspondent in Dharamsala on Saturday Anurag said, “ I have all the sympathies to the families of the martyrs, but wish to ask the leaders who are opposing Indo Pak match at Dharamsala that where were they when Pakistan was participating in S E Asian games in Assam.” He said that he is the grandson of ex serviceman and was even chosen for forces before joining politics.
With intent to supplement the efforts of Government of India’s Swachh Bharat initiative, Anurag Thakur, President Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and Member of Parliament Hamirpur today announced the launch of Swachh Himachal campaign ‘Padhai bhi, Safai bhi’. Given this initiative, HPCA becomes the first cricket association in India to work towards Swachh Abhiyaan initiated by the Government of India.
Anurag Thakur explained the foremost intent of Swachh Himachal initiative. The campaign aims at creating awareness and understanding among youth about the current sanitation situation of the State and thereby seeking their participation to work towards betterment of the society.
This campaign will be driven throughout the state, across 12 districts, urban and rural areas. The campaign will be primarily lead by youth hailing from educational institutes. The selected students will be termed as Swachh Captains and teachers as Swachh Coach's.
To motivate and incentivize the youth, various opportunities will be offered such as interactive session and cricket clinics with renowned Indian cricketers, chance to watch live matches at the stadium staring from incoming T 20 world cup.
The launch of Padhai bhi, Safai bhi campaign shall be done by Acharya Dev Vrat, the Governor of Himachal in the first week of next month and the project shall continue till 31st march 2017. The objective is to showcase Himachal's beauty as India's cleanest and greenest state.
