Anurag Thakur inaugurates Sant Vallabhdasji Stadium in Ratnal in Gujarat

Dharamshala, May 14, 2016: Anurag Singh Thakur, MP Hamirpur and President BJPM inaugurated ‘Sant Vallabhdasji Stadium’ in Ratnal, Gujarat, last evening.

Ratnal Sports Club has been established to promote sports as a culture amongst youth and provide them with a platform to hone their skills.

Commenting at the launch event, Thakur, said, “Sports is an extremely important facet of our life and each one of us must pursue a sport to lead a healthy lifestyle. While the primary objective of pursuing sports is fitness, however, the benefits arising out of it does not limit there. It helps an individual to be a better team member, inculcates the sense of healthy competitiveness, and provides an early lesson in leadership and management skills. Cricket being a team game encourages team spirit, fosters discipline, helps build up character and brings out the quality of leadership. Therefore, with the launch of this stadium, cricket enthusiasts will get a chance to pursue their dream and realize it. I am sure the youth of Gujarat is ecstatic and will welcome this initiative with utmost warmth and joy.”

Adding, he said, “Cricket is now pursued as a serious career option and no more considered as a futile sport with no scope for a career. Infact, with advent of IPL, many other leagues have been initiated which have lead to emergence of various employment opportunities, be it sports management, sports journalism, sports medicines or trainers.”

On the occasion, Thakur played cricket with the audience present at the launch function.

Thakur was the Chief Guest of the event.

The dignitaries present at the event included Tarachand Chheda, MOS, Cottage Industries, Salt Industries and Cow Protection, Government of Gujaratm Vasan Ahir, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Poonamben Madam, MP, Vinodbhai, MP and Pradipsinh Vaghela, BJP Secretary.
