Jalandhar, October 20, 2019: Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated Diwali Carnival with the aim of giving scholarship to eligible and needy students and to promote “No to single use of Plastic”.

Mr.Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, was the Chief Guest of the day.

Principal Dr.Sucharita Sharma warmly welcomed him and expressed her gratitude and gladness on the presence of such an exuberant personality. The students of BD, Home Science, Student Welfare Association (SWA), Fine Arts, I.T., BFA and Sculpture demonstrated various Digital games, decoration products for Diwali, Paintings, Block Painting Designs, Tie and Die Dresses, designer furniture and many more. Along with this various food stalls and rides were the centre of attraction for everyone.

The students from Department of Dance under the guidance of Dr. Micky Verma presented “Lakshmi Stuti”. Appreciating the students, hard work seeing the creative and decorative art pieces he put forth that teachers and students have left no stone unturned to make the event successful. He also added that by participating in such events they open their paths of successful entrepreneurship in future. He also appreciated that how carnival was planned under the theme, “No to Single Use Plastic”. There were total 35 stalls set up during the Carnival; out of which 10 were set up by college students. To honor the lucky winners of Raffle draw, Mr. Inderjeet Singh Dhami, Mr. Balwinder Singh, Mrs. Sugandha Sharma, Mrs. Ronita Chopra and Anadi Mishra were present. The audience was thrilled when Anadi Mishra performed on stage. Washing Machine, Air Fryer, Food Processor etc. were given as prizes for Raffle draws.

Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma appreciated the efforts of Dr. Jagmohan Mago, SWA Dean and Dr. Manisha Sharma, Dean Functions, Ms. Ramandeep and Dr. Neeraj Katyal for successfully conducting the event.
