Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized online 4th Rajeshwari Kala Mahotasva
Vibrant festival of art and culture in wake of covid-19 pandemic
Jalandhar: Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar (ACFA) organized Online 4th Rajeshwari Kala Mahotasva, a Vibrant Festival of Art and Culture in wake of Covid-19 Pandemic. Kala Mahotasva witnessed the release of special edition of College Magazine “Kala Saurabh 2020” and E-Catalogue of International Art Exhibition by the Chairman of Apeejay Education Society, Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia.
The Online International Art Exhibition featured the works of artists related to the fields of Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Printmaking, Digital Art and Drawing. Professional and Amateur Artists from India and 15 countries around the globe such as Turkey, USA, UK, Japan, Canada, France, Poland, Netherlands etc. participated, and the Jury panel comprising Renowned Artists Prof. V Albert from Netherland; Professor V. Nagdas, Khairagarh; Mr. Diwan Manna, Chandigarh; Mr. Madan Lal, Chandigarh and Mr. Tutu Pattnaik, Delhi judged a phenomenal 1200 entries to select the final 130 artists whose works were displayed in the exhibition. 35 of the 130 artists were awarded by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia in various categories.
The Exhibition also showcased the works of 37 Internationally Acclaimed Artists who were specially invited alongwith the works of 12 artists of ACFA. The mesmerizing performance by Flute Maestro Pt. Ronu Majumdar, a Guinness World Record holder was the highlight of the cultural programme organised on the occasion. Pt. Ronu Majumdar and Mr. Diwan Manna were also awarded the newly constituted Rajeshwari Samman on the occasion.
Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia congratulated the College and Principal Dr. Sucharita along with commending the work of the different departments of the College who had worked diligently to ensure that 4th Rajeshwari Kala Mahotasva was a huge success.
Mrs. Berlia also shared the history of ACFA from its foundation to now and how it transformed to meet the challenges of pandemic. She said that this function is a befitting tribute to her mother who was an artist and her father who envisioned the promotion of art through education.
