Apeejay School celebrates successful launching of Chandrayaan 3

Jalandhar, August 28, 2023: A momentous event took place at Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, as the school celebrated the successful launching of Chandrayaan 3, India's lunar exploration mission. The school organized a special assembly to mark this significant achievement in space exploration and to educate the students about the history, objectives, and importance of Chandrayaan missions. The assembly began with a brief overview of the history of Chandrayaan missions, highlighting their role in advancing India's space exploration endeavors. The students were introduced to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the driving force behind these missions, and its contributions to space technology and research.

The aims and objectives of the Chandrayaan mission were elucidated, emphasizing its goals to enhance our understanding of the Moon's composition, geology, and potential resources. The selection of the Moon's South Pole for the mission was explained, focusing on its scientific importance and the possibility of finding water ice in the permanently shadowed regions.

To engage the students, animated videos showcasing the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3 were presented, allowing them to witness the intricate process of a space mission from liftoff to its journey to the Moon's vicinity.

A remarkable announcement came during the celebration as it was revealed that August 23rd had been declared as National Space Day by the Prime Minister of India, recognizing the country's achievements in space exploration and inspiring the younger generation to take an interest in space science and technology.

During the assembly, a video message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulating the scientists involved in the Chandrayaan 3 mission was played, instilling a sense of pride and patriotism among the students. The dedication and hard work of these scientists were celebrated, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the nation's progress.

To inspire young minds further, the students were introduced to the "Rocket Woman" of India shedding light on the story of female scientist , Ritu Karidhal Srivastava ,who has made significant contributions to space exploration and science. This narrative aimed to encourage students, particularly girls, to pursue careers in STEM fields and break traditional barriers.

As the assembly concluded, the students were left with a profound sense of pride and enthusiasm.
