Jalandhar, July 12, 2024: Apeejay School, Rama Mandi holds the Investiture Ceremony on Friday for the academic session 2024-25. The school organised the Investiture Ceremony to empower, enable and encourage the new generation to find the worthiness within.
With the blessings of Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-Promoter and President of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and under the able guidance of AK Sharma, Principal of the school, the event proved to be a big confidence booster for the young students.
The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. A formal welcome was accorded to the newly elected school council by house coordinator Priya Rana. The newly appointed council members marched to the thunderous beats of the school band, with their heads held high.
Diljot Singh Minhas of class XII-Commerce and Gurleen Kaur of class XII-Medical have been elected as the Head Boy and Head Girl respectively for the current academic session 2024-25. Tejas Pal of class XI-Non Medical and Simran Kahlon of class XI-Medical have been appointed as Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl respectively. Furthermore, students were also elected for the school’s positions of Sports Captain (Boys & Girls) and CCA Captain (Boys & Girls), House Captains, Vice House Captains, House Prefects, Sports Prefects, Cleanliness and CCA Prefects of all the four Houses - Beas, Satluj, Saraswati and Yamuna were also adorned with badges for their respective positions.
The pinning of badges was followed by the flag ceremony as the school flag and the house flags were hoisted high. An oath was administered to the newly appointed student council by Principal AK Sharma.
Sharma congratulated the new council and urged them to strive hard and continue on the path of righteousness, hard work and selfless service. He mentioned, “This responsibility is not just an honour but also an opportunity to forge one’s character through sheer discipline and merit.” He requested the students to always remember and respect the dignity of the school before performing any task and assured them that he believed in their judgement and abilities. He also guided students to become such a leader who makes leaders of future.
The school choir group sang the school song - Soaring High is my Nature under the guidance of music Teacher, Ms. Nidhi Sharma.
The Class Representatives also received badges on this occasion. Scholar badges for the current academic session 2023-24 were also conferred to the toppers of classes VI to IX & XI. The newly appointed head boy and head girl promised a definite change for the better tomorrow with great conviction in their confident speeches.
The whole stage lit up with vibrant colours of different house flags and the event reinstated faith in the caliber and leadership of the future generations. In the end, Vice Principal Aarti Shorey Bhat proposed the Vote of Thanks and thanked everyone for the smooth functioning of the Investiture Ceremony. The event concluded with the National Anthem as the eyes of the new leaders glistened with promise.
