Jalandhar, October 20, 2024: Arayabhatta Club of DRV DAV Centenary Public School , Phillaur celebrated World Statistics Day on Saturday with a series of engaging activities that encouraged students to understand and apply statistical concepts.
Class V students participated in a hands-on activity using matchsticks to create tally marks.
VIII class students conducted a survey among their classmates, gathering data on screen time habits. The collected information was then represented through pie charts and histograms, teaching students how to visualize data in meaningful ways.
For Classes XI and XII, the focus was on collecting data related to Punjab and Odisha. Students presented their findings through PowerPoint presentations and data sheets. Additionally, they took the initiative to explain these presentations to the junior classes, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Principal, Dr Yogesh Gambhir stated that This celebration of World Statistics Day not only emphasized the importance of statistics in everyday life but also promoted critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity among students.
