SAYS THIS PROJECT WOULD GIVE NEW DIRECTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF RAIKOT CONSTITUENCY
Sudhar/Raikot (Ludhiana), December 4, 2018: After the Punjab cabinet gave a go ahead for the setting up of an International Civil Terminal at Air Force Station, Halwara, there has been joy and happiness amongst the residents of Raikot constituency. Senior Congress leader of area Dr Amar Singh and area residents have welcomed this decision of the Congress-led Punjab government. The area residents today organised several functions to honour Dr Amar Singh for his efforts regarding this issue.
While addressing an impressive gathering at Sudhar Market, Dr Amar Singh said that with the state government giving a go ahead to the setting up of international civil terminal at Halwara, the long pending demand of people of Ludhiana district has been fulfilled. He said this this project would give a new direction to the development of Raikot constituency. He said that special efforts would be made to ensure that this project is completed in next three years time.
He said that the first phase of the project, which will include development of a new international civil enclave over an area of 135.54 acres for full-fledged operations up to Code-4C type aircraft, is likely to be completed within three years.
Area residents Gurmeet Singh Sudhar Block President, OSD Jagpreet Singh Buttar, Sukhjivan Singh Dangon, Lal Singh, Happy Hissowal, Babu Naik, Nirbhai Singh Rajoana, Baljit Singh Halwara, Bittu Sarpanch Rattowal, Kamal Halwara and several others thanked Dr Amar Singh as well as Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for accepting this long pending demand of the area. They said that this project would not only usher new development opportunities in the area, but would also lead to creation of new jobs.
