ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY CELEBRATED

Ludhiana, December 7, 2018: Armed Forces Flag Day was celebrated at Ludhiana today. On this day, our fellow countrymen remember the sacrifices made by our army personnel for our country and donate huge amounts of funds under Armed Forces Flag Day fund for the families of our martyrs, army personnel disabled during the war and for war widows. This day is celebrated every year on December 7.
While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr.Pardeep Kumar Agrawal appealed to all district residents to wholeheartedly donate for the fund. On this occasion, District Sainik Welfare Officer Col (Retd) Mr. G S Boparai tied the flag to him. several others were also present. Deputy Commissioner also released a special issue on World War-1 centenary `Ran Yodhe 2017-18`.

BAN IMPOSED ON UNAUTHORISED CONSTRUCTION AND ALTERATION NEAR BADOWAL ARMY AMMUNITION DEPOT
Ludhiana: Mr.Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Magistrate, by virtue of powers vested under section 144 Cr.P.C, 1976, has imposed the ban on any additional alterations or carry out fresh construction in the restricted zone i.e.1000 yards from the outer parapet of the ammunition depot at Badowal. In orders, he apprehended that with the raising of unauthorized constructions near Badowal Army Ammunition Depot, there may be a further danger to human life and disturbance of public tranquility. This order will remain in force till February 4, 2019.
