Arms and ammunition recovered by BSF in Ferozepur Sector
Sleuths belonging to 182 battalion of BSF have recovered cache of arms and ammunition including AK-47 assault rifle, two magazines, 40 live rounds in Mamdot area during a search operation. Besides, cash amount of Rs.40,000 has also been recovered.
Ferozepur, January 20, 2024: Sleuths belonging to 182 battalion of BSF have recovered cache of arms and ammunition including AK-47 assault rifle, two magazines, 40 live rounds in Mamdot area during a search operation. Besides, cash amount of Rs.40,000 has also been recovered.
While divulging details, the BSF officials said that a search operation had been carried out following a suspected intrusion of a drone near Lakha Singh Wala Hithar village in Mamdot area. During the search operation, the BSF troops recovered a big packet wrapped in white colored gunny sand bag. On opening the bag, the BSF troops recovered the consignment.
An FIR under sections 10,11,12 of Air Craft Act and sections 25,54,59 of Arms Act was registered at Mamdot police station following complaint lodged by the BSF officials (FIR No. 08 dated 20.01.24).
In another operation, the BSF troops belonging to 116 battalion recovered 3 kg heroin near Jhugge Lal Singh village in Ferozepur Sector.
