Jalandhar, August 9, 2012 : The Army Chief, General Bikram Singh alongwith Western Army Commander visited Vajra Corps to review the operational preparedness of the Corps, here, today.
They were received by General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps. Gen Bikram Singh was on his maiden visit to Vajra Corps.
Bubble Singh, President Army Wives Welfare Association also visited the Vajra Corps.
The Army Chief was briefed by the General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps.
During his visit, the Army Chief General Bikram Singh interacted with other senior officers of the Vajra Corps. The General Officer expressed his satisfaction on the state of readiness.
While addressing all officers in station, Gen Bikram Singh emphasised on requirement of maintaining the highest standards of operational preparedness and discipline. He emphasised on value based leadership, as per legacy of the Indian Army and the requirement of regular interaction with veterans to imbibe the rich ethos of our predecessors. The General Officer appreciated the efforts put in to provide quality recreational facilities to the residents.
Bubble Singh, President, AWWA, appreciated the manner in which empowerment of women was being executed. The President AWWA also visited the “ Vajra Vocational Training Centre” and “ASHA School”.
Bubble Singh also interacted with families of Vajra Corps.
