Ferozepur, November 7, 2012: Intensifying the patrolling and search operations in the city during the festival days to avoid any untoward incident, the Ferozepur Cantt police have arrested two suspicious nature persons at the naka laid at canal colony in possession of two unauthorised pistols and live cartridges.
Addressing the press conference, SSP Varinder Pal Singh, Ferozepur said, “The Ferozepur Cantt police has arrested two persons identified as Visakha Singh and Binder Singh, resident of Pir Ke Khan Garh falling under Lakho Ke Behram police station.
During search, one unauthorised 12 bore pistol loaded with three cartridges including one loaded was recovered from Visakha Singh and one pistol from Binder Singh with loaded with two cartridges. The cases have been registered under sections 25, 54 and 59 of Arms Act, at Ferozepur Cantt police station”. SSP added.
During preliminary investigation, the arrested persons disclosed that they have brought the pistols from UP. However, there is no past criminal record of these persons and land dispute is reported to be reasons for keeping the weapons for which further enquiry is still going on.
