Aryans College of Education students visit SOREM-Society

Students of Aryans College of Education during their visit SOREM-Society.

Chandigarh. December 14, 2014: In order to inculcate the value of education and to sensitize the students towards Social Responsibility, Aryans College of Education recently organised a trip to Society for the Rehabilitation of the Mentally Challenged (SOREM), Sector-36 C, Chandigarh. The students spent the entire day with the special children and their educators. The place for visit was chosen according to the specializations of the courses of the students. The group was led by Principal, Aryans College of Education, Dr Manjula Kataria.

The visit was organised to understand the educational culture, to develop the attitude within the students for mankind and to motivate teachers that enable them to explore self directed activities. They also learned about different Rehabilitation and Therapies given to these children.

It is to be mentioned that SOREM deal with children having Developmental and other mental disorders and have specialisation in Early Invention Programs thereby preparing children for inclusive education. The society offer outstanding facilities like Vocational & Functional Education, Rehabilitation Therapies, Sports and Yoga etc. Honorary Secretary of SOREM, Promila Chandra Mohan, said that it has become a passion for their special educators to work with special children.

Principal, Aryans College of Education, Dr Manjula Kataria while appreciating the efforts made for the noble cause of the society said that it’s an amazing feeling to see special children. The dedication of the staff and rehabilitation activities enables the development of these children and there is nothing more gratifying than this.

She further added that such kind of Educational visits help to develop the psychological behavior of the students and motivate them to contribute towards such causes through their innovation, dedication and hard work.
