Asha Chinh Welfare Society organises Students-Sponsors meet
The Annual Students - Sponsor Meet of Asha Chinh Welfare Society, Ludhiana was organised today at Sukhdev Singh Bhawan, PAU, Ludhiana. Students of different schools of Ludhiana including Guru Nanak Public School, Malwa Khalsa Sr Secondary school, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Sr. Secondary School, Adarsh Public School, Atam Vallabh Jain Shikshan Sanstan participated in the programme.
Ludhiana, September 4, 2024: The Annual Students - Sponsor Meet of Asha Chinh Welfare Society, Ludhiana was organised today at Sukhdev Singh Bhawan, PAU, Ludhiana. Students of different schools of Ludhiana including Guru Nanak Public School, Malwa Khalsa Sr Secondary school, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Sr. Secondary School, Adarsh Public School, Atam Vallabh Jain Shikshan Sanstan participated in the programme. AAFTAAB scholarship, designed to support the education of meritorious needy students studying in different schools, offers Rs 1000 per month to each student to support their education. The event was organized to bring together the sponsors, students and their parents. This programme is being run in the sacred memory of Aaftaab Chawla, and has supported education of more than two hundred students till now.
Dr. Rajinder Chawla, Chairman Asha Chinh Welfare Society, welcomed the guests and threw light upon the various activities of the society. He informed the guests that the society had been instrumental in converting two government schools into smart schools and was running its own school also at Haibowal Kalan, thus bringing more than one thousand students per year into the fold of education. The society was also doing great work in creating traffic awareness among school and college students. All the scholarship students were given school bags.
The winners of essay writing competition were awarded prizes at the occasion. Two meritorious students, Harpreet and Pooja were provided computers. The prizes and certificates were given away by the Chief Guest Jasdev singh Sekhon, Asst Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana and Guest of Honour Maneet Diwan, Convener City Needs. While speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Mr. Sekhon motivated the students to work hard in academics as well as to become responsible citizens. Stressing on road safety, he exhorted the students to drive safely and shun from underage driving.
Other eminent speakers and guests included Dr. S.B. Pandhi and Mr. Inderjeet Singh Sodhi from Small Ideas Great Ideas, Sukhwinder Kaur and Gurinderjeet Singh from Jeet foundation, Barjinder Singh from Ek Noor, Dr. Mukti Gill, Director Khalsa Institutions, Ludhiana and Amita Bansal, Principal Adarsh Public School, Ludhiana.
