Asian boxing championship gold medalist Shaheen Gill undergoes successful knee surgery
Shaheen Gill international boxer and a gold medalist at Asian Boxing Championship-2022 and a medalist at Khelo India games underwent a successful knee surgery performed by Dr Harpreet Singh Gill, Director of Orthopaedics at Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, June 29, 2022: Shaheen Gill international boxer and a gold medalist at Asian Boxing Championship-2022 and a medalist at Khelo India games underwent a successful knee surgery performed by Dr Harpreet Singh Gill, Director of Orthopaedics at Ludhiana.
Shaheen Gill had injured her knee a month back while practicing. She then consulted Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Harpreet Gill and after getting scans was diagnosed as having ACL (Anterior cruciate ligament) complete tear with meniscus injury. She underwent arthroscopy knee surgery (ACL ligament reconstruction and meniscus surgery).
Dr Gill stated that the ligament surgery was conducted by the latest keyhole arthroscopic technique. After the successful knee surgery she is now undergoing physiotherapy under Dr Rohit Singla. She would be needing expert rehabilitation and physiotherapy for at least 3-4 months for her return to international boxing competitions.
ACL is anterior cruciate ligament and is very important for the stability of the knee and specially for the sportspeople. Only a fit athlete can bring medals for the country.
Dr Gill wished Shaheen a brilliant boxing career ahead and may she bring a gold medal for India at the Olympic games.
