DC salutes their dedication towards duty and ensuring smooth polling
Nawanshahr, February 21, 2022: A peon at Government Senior Secondary School, village Gobindpur, Mangat Ram (57) of local Bisla village lost his brother Sukhcharan (62) after suffering heart attack on Sunday at 2 pm. Mangat Ram said that he had decided to stay back as voting was going on in full swing at the booth when he received the call as he was the only person to help the polling party and if he had left the duty, election work would have suffered.
“I didn’t even tell members of polling party of my grief but somehow when my phone was continued ringing, they asked me about reason only then I revealed them about death of elder brother” said Ram and told that they sent him immediately to home. Later after attending funeral, Ram again joined the duty and remained there till the deposition of EVMs.
