Assembly Polls 2022- DC calls upon youth to use ‘voter helpline’ app and ‘NVSP Portal’ for enrolling themselves as voters
Says it would help in making youth an active partner in democratic process
Ludhiana, November 7, 2021: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma on Sunday called upon the youth to make maximum use of ‘Voter Helpline’ mobile app and National Voter Services Portal (NVSP) portal for enrolling themselves as voters before the upcoming assembly polls-2022.
Inspecting special booth level camps at Ramgarhia Senior Secondary School, Miller Ganj, here, organized to facilitate the voters for verifications of their names, new registrations, changes in the voter details and corrections in the Voter ID Cards for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2022, the Deputy Commissioner said that all these efforts are being made to ensure that the every eligible voter can participate in the democratic system by enrolling themselves as voters.
He asked the tech savvy youth to use the app and portal for registering themselves as voters by sitting at their places through a single click on their computer or mobile which just take few minutes of submitting application. Sharma said that the youth can download Voter Helpline App from Google Play store in their android phone for enrolling them as voters or can visit www.nvsp.in for registering themselves as voters.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the app is very useful as any person can find his vote in a particular area by filing common details like epic number, name, father’s name and date of birth.
He said that the people can contact national toll free number 1950, website of the Election Commission for any kind of help.
He said that these special camps would also be held all booths on November 20 and 21 and final publication of electoral rolls would take place on January 5, 2022. He said that these special camps held on 3000 places in Ludhiana on Saturday (November 6) and today.
