An interaction being done by Assistant Dean Student Development, Boston University, USA at KMV, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, November 4, 2014: Prof John Battaglino, Assistant Dean Student Development, Boston University, USA who was at KMV campus to deliver his invited talk at two day International Conference on Cross Cultural Nuances (ICCN-14) on the 30th and 31st of October, 2014 stayed back to interact with the students on the morning of 3rd Nov, 2014.  He also interacted with the faculty in the afternoon.  In his formal address to the students he said that he was overwhelmed with the warmth of hospitality and love he received, he complimented India for its beauty and said that it overjoyed him to be here.  Referring to the famous ‘American Dream’ of Martin Luther King (Junior) he said that it had a strong connect to Mahatma Gandhi as the mentors of Martin Luther King Jr. were greatly influenced by Mahatama Gandhi.  Both American & Indian Cultures had a lot to learn from each other.  American lifestyle was a lot faster than the rest of the world and people probably were trying to live 10 years of life in 1 year.  The divorce rate was very high, family tries were not as strong as in India, so Americans had a lot to learn from India in that respect.  Indians also could imbibe many things from Americans, like the habit to travel frequently to imbibe a little good piece of the cultures across the globe.  He needed that though india was one of the youngest countries in terms of the no. of youth, the youth needed to be empowered through education, healthy exposure to learning experiences was a must.  He promised to begin a programmes of interaction and exchange between Boston University & KMV students in the future.  He also thanked Principal KMV Prof. Atima Sharma for making the interaction possible.  The students were extremely delighted with the exchange.
