Astro Turf in Khalsa College inaugurated by Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Sodhi

Jalandhar, August 29, 2021: Astro Turf laid hockey ground in Lyallpur Khalsa College was inaugurated today by Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi Cabinet Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in a brief held in the college today.  Rajinder Beri MLA Jalandhar Central was the Guest of Honor on the occasion. The occasion was also witnessed by the presence of Olympic Medal winning Indian hockey team members which included Captain Manpreet Singh,  Harmanpreet Singh,  Hardik Singh and Varun Kumar. 

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest Sodhi said that he was impressed with the outstanding contribution of the college to the world of sports. He lauded the efforts made by the college in promoting sports in the region. He announced a special grant of Rs.  five lacs for the college. Welcoming the guests,  the college principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra expressed his thanks towards Sodhi for efforts in upholding sports in Punjab. He said that outstanding performance by the Indian Hockey team could inspire the budding players. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr.  SS Bains,  Dean Sports of the college. 

Present on the occasion were Gurpreet Singh District Sports Officer, Iqbal Singh Sandhu,  Secretary Hockey Society,  Surinder Singh,  Rana Tut,  Rajinder Singh and Olympians Gundeep Kumar,  Harpreet Singh Mander, Sanjeev
Kumar, Devinder Singh,  Col. Balbir Singh , Harjit Singh,  Krishna Pathak Parminder Singh,  Jugraj Singh and Parvinder Singh.
