Noida, June 20, 2016: Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) with its affordable courses of skill development has avowed to empower the youth. To spread awareness regarding the same, ‘Run for Skills’, marathon was organised by ATDC. The marathon started from ATDC Noida and culminated at the same location, covering major parts of Noida and stopping at Metro Hospital and Nehru International Public School. It was flagged off by District Magistrate Shri Nagendra Pratap Singh The event was put together to move one step closer to achieving the dream of ‘Skilled India’ by the team led by Mr Lalit Thukral, Convenor, LMC, Noida Cluster, Dr. Darlie Koshy, Director, ATDC.

Shri. Nagendra Pratap Singh, District Magistrate, Noida said, “The goal of “Skill India” is to create opportunities, space and scope for the development of talent of Indians and identify new sectors for skill development. It aims to provide training and skill development to 500 million youth by 2020, and ATDC should be well appreciated to move one step forwards towards Skill India goal.”

Dr. Darlie Koshy DG & CEO, ATDC & IAM said “As a vocational training network, we at ATDC realise the importance of imparting skill to empower the unemployed youth. It is not just about skilling them; it is about making them self-confident and ready for the future”.

Sh. Lalit Thukral said, “It’s an endeavor to enhance the employability of youth and women. This even spread awareness about ATDC and its role in Skilling India.”

The participants were spotted wearing T-shirts with the ATDC logo, sponsored by Paragon Apparel. Over 150 enthusiastic students, volunteers and faculty members were seen running with flags and banners to acquaint the people of Noida with the advantages of enrolling for ATDC skill development courses. The activity also involved distribution of pamphlets to the onlookers. The main aim behind this was guiding the unemployed youth to avail this opportunity and equip themselves with the skills.

With the vision of “Imparting Skills and Improving Lives”, ATDC is the single largest vocational training provider for the apparel sector in India. Under the leadership of Dr Darlie Koshy, it has been honoured with ‘Best Vocational Training Provider (VTP) Training 2016-Gold’ by ASSOCHAM. The staff of ATDC has been working to train the youth and women since 25 years. This event reflected their goal of skilling as many people as possible, and making them self-reliant.

The event witnessed participation from a huge number of the city’s youth. The spectators excitedly cheered up for the participants and boosted up their energy. Everything was well coordinated by the Noida Police and the volunteers. Appreciation from the audience marked a successful end to the event.
