Ludhiana, July 24, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen on Wednesday stated that the e-Sanad portal has been launched to provide a centralized platform for contactless and paperless document verification and attestation services for Indian citizens and foreigners who have obtained documents from document issuing authorities (DIAs) in India.

All types of documents, including personal, educational, and commercial, can be verified using this portal. The service has been initiated in Ludhiana and SAS Nagar as a pilot project and will eventually extend services to Indians residing abroad. The system ensures that foreign employers and other verification agencies receive digitally verified genuine documents.

To use the e-Sanad portal, the applicant must register on esanad.nic.in, log in, and then select the option for non-pre-verified documents. They will need to select the type of document and the Issuing Authority (State as Punjab). After that, they should choose the Deputy Commissioner's Office under which their residence falls and fill in the necessary details before uploading the documents. The applicant must then proceed to make an online payment for attestation/Apostille. A receipt will be generated by the e-certificate portal after successful payment. To check the application status, the applicant can visit esanad.nic.in.

Major Sareen emphasized that this system is completely faceless, cashless, paperless, and time-saving. Furthermore, the applicant will receive information about each stage of processing of their application through SMS and emails.

As many as 22 applications have been received in Ludhiana through portal of which five of them have already been processed by Ministry of External Affairs which is highest in the state. NIC office has provided proper training to the employees regarding e-Sanad portal.
