Kabul shahi is mercilessly overtaken by the Sultan’s brother, Saddam, along with Simsim. Greedy to rule over the land, he slays Mariam's father and grabs the title of Sultan, while Sim Sim promises to grant him powers if he hands over Mariam to her. In his desire to be an invincible ruler, his humorous dialogues juxtaposed with cruel intentions unfold a gripping character for the fans to explore.
Chandan Anand who essays the role of Saddam comments, "I have played villains in the past and I take it as a challenge to play it different from previous role. I try my best to bring variations in my form, which should come as a different persona and entertains my audience at the same time. I always look for playing different roles in a show and Saddam is one such unique character. I’m enjoying the role and exploring his complexity as a villain. I knew this character had a lot of scope in the show, but eventually the character came out to be funny, as well as evil. I’m really liking the mix of these two forms. I'm grateful that the audience is appreciative of my performance, and I hope they continue to shower us with the same love!"
