Austin Cocks leads on Day 2 of Paragliding World Cup in Billing
On the second day of the Paragliding World Cup in Billing, Austin Cocks from the United States claimed the lead with an impressive 1496 points. Alexander from Kazakhstan followed closely in second place with 1410 points, while Dominik Kapica of Poland, who previously held the second spot, now stands third with 1408 points.
Dharamshala, November 4, 2024: On the second day of the Paragliding World Cup in Billing, Austin Cocks from the United States claimed the lead with an impressive 1496 points. Alexander from Kazakhstan followed closely in second place with 1410 points, while Dominik Kapica of Poland, who previously held the second spot, now stands third with 1408 points.
In the women’s category, Poland’s Joanna Kok secured the top position with 1202 points. She was followed by Marina Olxina from Brazil with 649 points, and Austria’s Polina Pirch in third with 567 points.
On Monday, the competitors were tasked with covering a target distance of 65 kilometers, with all participants landing safely. Day two’s challenge was set at 66 kilometers by aerial distance and 93 kilometers by location, testing the skill and endurance of the 71 pilots from 23 countries. The update was shared by the spokesperson of the Billing Paragliding Association.
