Chandigarh, June 20, 2024: In a significant stride toward fostering research excellence, Panjab University, in collaboration with Elsevier, organized a workshop titled “How to Get Published in Scopus-Indexed Journals.”
The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 500 registrations and 200 attendees including scholars, faculty members, and researchers from institutions like Punjabi University, Patiala, CSIR-IMTECH, Eternal University-Baru Sahib, Amity University, Punjab, DAV college Amritsar and Jalandhar, CRIID, and various departments of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The workshop’s inaugural address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig, underscored the pivotal role of high-impact research publications for the holistic development of both, individual researcher and the university.
Prof. Vig emphasized the need for rigorous scholarship, and in collaborative confidence, workshop coordinators, Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh, Chairperson, Dept of Laws, and Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Deputy Librarian, A. C. Joshi Library, Panjab University, together announce a series of future research workshops with accredited agencies to further enhance the research profiles of students and university.
Workshop speaker and expert from Elsevier Dr. Vinita Saroha, Customer Success Manager, Elsevier talked on issues that researchers face and helped them navigate a skill for manuscript development and publication in quality journals listed with SCOPUS. The session was followed by an intense Q&A with speaker. Esteemed Guest, Dr. Sushil Kumar Kansal, Professor, Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar UICET, pressed the need for passion in research. Dr. Priyatosh Sharma, Professor, Department of History, Panjab University proposed a vote of thanks and congratulated the students and university for the success of workshop.
