Award of ‘Friend of Thalassemia’ to Dr Sukhvinder Singh for his outstanding services

Ludhiana, November 27, 2018: Punjab Thalassemics' Welfare Society (PTWS) conferred the award of ‘Friend of Thalassemia’ to Dr Sukhvinder Singh for his outstanding services and devotion towards the cause of thalassemia. The meet also had scientific talks by experts including Dr Shruti Kakkar , Dr Amarjit Kaur (Professor & Head of Transfusion Medicine, DMCH), Dr Geetanjali Jindal, Dr Priyanka Gupta and Dr Suvir Singh. The meet was also attended by members of Thalassemia International Federation (TIF) Dr Michael Angastiniotis (MedicalAdvisor, Thalassemia International Federation) and Dr Mohammed Naveed (Consultant Geneticist,UAE), who assured the patients that TIF will lend every possible support in improving thalassemic services in the state of Punjab. Dr Sukhdeep Kaur said she was extremely pleased to meet the patients with thalassemia and various NGOs working in the field and assured that her department will try to solve all the problems encountered by them.
