Awareness Camp organised for registration of Services sector dealers under GST Act, 2017 

Ludhiana, January 22,2025: On the directions of Shinee Singh, Assistant Commissioner State Tax, Ludhiana-3 and in continuation of the measures being taken by the State GST Department, an awareness Camp was organized today with the help of representatives of Shopkeepers Associations, at Chander Nagar Main Road, Ludhiana by Upkar Singh , STO and Phaldeep Singh, State Tax

Inspector along with their team to sensitize the taxable suppliers of services about the importance of registration under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act. It aimed to encourage unregistered suppliers of Services to come under the GST umbrella and contribute to the growth of tax revenue. Attendees were sensitized regarding registration and the survey campaign already in force w.e.f 10th of January, 2024 by the State GST department.

Another similar camp was organized by Manu Garg, Bakshish Singh both STOs, Amanat Singh and Sh. Rohit Sharma, both STIs at Canal Road, South City Ludhiana. During the Camp, departmental officers emphasized the benefits of GST registration and appealed to the attendees to get themselves registered under GST Act, 2017 to boost up the service
sector.

The team on behalf of the government assured to provide additional support and resources to help the dealers comply with GST regulations. Grievances of some small traders were taken into account as per law. This awareness Camp was a significant step towards enhancing GST registration and revenue.

“Similar camps are being organised in each and every ward ofLudhiana-3 as per the directions of Assistant Commissioner State Tax”, informed Sh. Hardeep Singh Ahuja, Nodal Officer of the department.
