Ludhiana, November 18, 2015: Awareness programme on “ Hazards of Smoking “ and “ Body and Organ Donation – Ultimate gift to mankind”- an outreach programme was organised by the Department of Anatomy, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana for the students of Delhi Public School, Ludhiana
The students were educated on the ill effects of smoking, both active and passive, on human body. They were  also made aware of the organs ,like heart, liver, kidney etc.which can be donated in brain dead persons. It was mentioned that after death, cornea & whole body can be donated. Selected posters made by the students on the topic, Hazards of Smoking, were displayed and were awarded certificates by Principal  Dr Sandeep Puri. The faculty of the Anatomy department, later, showed the students human organs taken from donated bodies to encourage organ donation.
