Awareness programme on “Body and Organ Donation – Ultimate gift to mankind”
A public interaction programme was organised by the Department of Anatomy, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana for the students of Modern Secular Public School, Shergarh Cheema, Malerkotla today.
Ludhiana, November 16, 2022: A public interaction programme was organised by the Department of Anatomy, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana for the students of Modern Secular Public School, Shergarh Cheema, Malerkotla today.
Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMCH, Ludhiana, in his address, motivated the class X students to take up Medicine as a career. He highlighted that this profession has always been a noble one, and there is immense satisfaction when we treat a patient.
Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society, congratulated the Dept of Anatomy and encouraged the students to spread the cause of organ donation as it can save a life.
Dr Hitant Vohra, Head, Department of Anatomy and all faculty members encouraged the students to pursue medicine in the future and thanked them for giving their time to DMCH.
The students were made aware of the organs like heart, liver, kidney etc. which can be donated from brain dead persons. After death, the cornea & whole body can be donated. The faculty of the Anatomy department, later, showed the students human organs taken from donated bodies to encourage organ donation.
More than hundred students participated in a questioning round and discussion with the doctors to make the session more interactive.
