Ludhiana, July 31, 2024: An Awareness programme on “Body and Organ Donation – Ultimate gift to mankind”- a public interaction programme was organised today by the Department of Anatomy, DMC&H for the 12th medical students of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana.
In his message, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society Bipin Gupta Lauded the efforts of Department of Anatomy for conducting this awareness session for the students.
Dr GS Wander, Principal, DMC&H, in his address, motivated the class XII students to become good doctors. He highlighted that this profession has always been a noble one, and there is immense satisfaction when we treat a patient. He also answered the queries of students on medical profession and how to maintain balance between professional and personal life.
Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics gave tips on judicious use of internet resources for references.
The students were made aware of the organs like heart, liver, kidney etc. which can be donated in brain dead persons. After death, cornea & whole body can be donated. The faculty of the Anatomy department, later, showed the students human organs taken from donated bodies to encourage organ donation.
