Awareness Programme on Prevention of HIV/AIDS was organized by National Service Scheme, Panjab University, Chandigarh at Ankur School , Sector-14, Chandigarh on Monday.
Chandigarh, September 4, 2023: Awareness Programme on Prevention of HIV/AIDS was organized by National Service Scheme, Panjab University, Chandigarh at Ankur School , Sector-14, Chandigarh on Monday.
The objective of the HIV/AIDS drive was to educate people and students about preventing HIV Infection . The Event was started with awareness rally followed by Stage Play based on the theme HIV/AIDS awareness.
The events saw active participants from NSS volunteer including both undergraduate and post graduate students. Additionally, several teachers from Ankur School volunteered to supervise and encourage the students during the drive.
The event started promptly at 10:30 A.M. The initiative was made possible through the efforts of Dr. Richa Sharma (P.O. NSS). Dr. Parveen Goyal (Programme Coordinator), Prof. Simrit Kahlon , DSW (W) and Dr. Parminder Duggal, Principal , Ankur School also encouraged the students and expressed gratitude towards Dr.Richa Sharma, NSS Programme Officer and her team for conducting such a vital awareness programme in their school. This awareness drive is just one of the many initiatives undertaken by the NSS unit of Panjab University, Chandigarh as part of its commitment to community service and social upliftment.
The event was graced by Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS, Chandigarh as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Nemi Chand emphasized on the importance of organising such awareness programmes in spreading knowledge regarding sensitive issues in a society like addiction and disease.
More than 100 students along with 40 NSS Volunteers participated in this programme.
