Gets Rs 1 lakh cash award, DC honours teacher for bringing laurels
Ludhiana, March 15, 2023: National award-winning teacher Karamjit Singh Grewal, a resident of Lalton Kalan village has brought laurels for the Punjab and Ludhiana by winning first prize for best Lori writing competition organized by Union Government under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He is a teacher at Government Senior Secondary School, Kheri Jhameri (district Ludhiana).
Grewal has received Rs 1 lakh cash award and a certificate from the Union government.
Applauding Grewal for his feat, Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that the former had made the Ludhiana proud by winning first prize in the national level competitions. She said that in celebration of completion of 75 years of India's independence (under Azadi da Amrit Mahotsav), various competitions were organized by the Government of India on the theme of unity in creativity in which 5,16885 contestants participated.
It is pertinent to mention here that Grewal has also published 10 books so far, in which the first book was also awarded the best children's book award. Apart from this, the Punjabi Alphabet video has received the first prize at the national level from the American India Foundation Trust.
