Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Three lakh flags to be distributed among residents under `Har Ghar Tiranga’ Initiative from August 13 to 15
DC asks officers to encourage residents to hoist flag atop houses
Ludhiana, July 28, 2022: In order to invoke the spirit of patriotism among the Ludhiana residents, more than three lakh national flags will be hoisted on houses, government offices and buildings under 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative to mark the 75th Independence Day from August 13 to 15 across district.
Chairing a meeting to discuss plan to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in a big way, Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that more than three lakh National Flags would be distributed among the people by the administration.
She said that distribution centres would also be set up in the district where a big size flag would be provided to the people at Rs 25, medium size flag for Rs 18 and for 6x9 inch one at Rs 9 in these distribution centres.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers of panchayat, civic bodies, police, food supply, revenue, industry departments and others to ensure active participation of their staff members under the programme. She directed the officers to take all required measures for success of the programme by encouraging the residents of the district. She appealed to the public and all government employees to participate in the program by hoisting flags on their houses. She said that the Indian government has made some changes in the flag code to allow everyone to hoist the flag on their homes.
She informed that the local self help groups of the district are also preparing national flags that would also be made available for this programme.
Prominent among present on the occasion included ADCs Amit Kumar Panchal, Anita Darshi, Amarjeet Bains, DCP Saumya Mishra and others.
