Babasaheb Ambedkar Ji Museum at IKGPTU will be a unique amalgamation of facts

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, September 14, 2021: To provide a great platform to researchers, a museum based on the life and work of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar will be established at the main campus of I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Jalandhar by the state Government. This museum will be a unique amalgamation of proven facts in the subjects related to the life, work and philosophy of Dr. Ambedkar ji. In the context of this goal, a high level project review meeting was held between the senior officials of the Department of Technical Education and the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs at IKGPTU on Tuesday. The meeting was presided over by Principal Secretary Technical Education Department (PSTE) cum Vice Chancellor IKGPTU IAS Ramesh Kumar Ganta.
In the meeting, the specifics of the project were kept in the midst of everyone through a film and a power point presentation on behalf of the consultant and architecture associated with the Dr. Ambedkar Ji Museum. Sharing the project report, Ms Vinita Singh told that the Museum will be built with an investment of about 150 crores and it will be divided into five zones. The first entry point will be Pranam Tower, while the first zone will be named as Central Zone which will have a gallery on the life and work of Dr. Ambedkar Ji. The second zone will be related to his personal life and the third zone social and economic impact and his work on these subjects. According to expert consultant, the fourth zone is divided into the "Constitution Zone", while the fifth zone will be based on the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar Ji. Initially it is being set up on 10 acres of land.
During the project report analysis & feedback session, Principal Secretary Technical Education Department cum Vice Chancellor IKGPTU IAS Ramesh Kumar Ganta also invited views from the present University officials and representatives of the Employees Association. Both side representatives shared their views & officials gave the same to project advisory company with a note to incorporate after the fact based research on the subject. Vice Chancellor IAS Ganta appreciated the university officials for having knowledge on the life philosophy and works of Dr. Ambedkar Ji. He expressed confidence that in future this project would also be known globally for research works on Dr. Ambedkar Ji.
On this occasion, Director of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Ms Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar, Director of Technical Education Department IAS Kumar Saurabh Raj also expressed their views related to the museum. University Registrar IAS Jaspreet Singh, Dean Academics Prof Vikas Chawla, Finance Officer Dr. Sukhbir Walia, Executive Engineer HP Singh, Director Planning and External Program Dr. Ekonkar Singh, Deputy Registrar Dr. Sandeep Mehmi & representatives of Employees Association Senior Assistant Pawan Kumar, Bhalwinder Singh Dhanaula and others were also present.
